This is the perfect recipe for the Fall season!  You're sure to add this recipe to your Thanksgiving treats:

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup oatmeal
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 pkg. cream cheese (8 oz.) softened
  • 1 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 can pumpkin (15 oz.)
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 48 pecans

In a large bowl use a pastry blender to mix first four ingredients until it resembles coarse crumbs.  Press into a greased cookie sheet.  Bake for 10 minutes at 350 degrees.  In a large bowl combine cream cheese and sugar.  Beat at medium speed until combined.  Add eggs, one at a time, beating on low speed until combined.  Stir in pumpkin, vanilla, pumpkin pie spice and salt.  Pour pumpkin mixture onto hot crust.  Bake for 30 to 35 minutes.  Cool completely in pan on a wire rack.  Combine chocolate chips and 1/4 cup butter over medium heat until melted.  Spread chocolate mixture over cooled bars.  Press pecan halves evenly over top of bars.  Cover and chill for 2 to 24 hours.  Cut and serve.  Store bars in refrigerator.
