How the kits work
Built in Amish country, finished by you
Little Cottage Co. playhouses ship as panelized kits. The wall sections arrive framed with the siding already fastened on, so they go together square and fast. Then your family picks the paint colors.
- Framed wall panels with siding and trim pre-attached and primed
- Working windows with safety glass and screens
- A child-size Dutch door plus an adult door
- All assembly hardware and a step-by-step manual with color photos
- You supply: shingles, paint and drip edge. A floor kit is optional on some models.
Playhouses for older kids
Big enough to grow into
The Pennfield Cottage and Craftsman stand 84 to 88 inches inside, with porches and a slide on the Craftsman. Sara’s Victorian Mansion and the Grand Portico Mansion reach 102 inches, with bay windows and a full-height adult door. They make great clubhouses, reading nooks and backyard hideouts long after the tea-party years.

Playhouse FAQ
What size playhouse should I get?
Measure your space and leave room for a base 1 foot wider than the playhouse on every side. A 4x6 suits toddlers; from 8x8 up there is 82 inches of headroom, and the Pennfield, Craftsman and mansions give older kids more room.
Do the kits come with a floor?
It depends on the model. The Pennfield Cottage, Craftsman and Grand Portico listings include the floor kit; on others it is optional, and if you build your own floor it must match the playhouse size exactly.
What do I need to buy separately?
Little Cottage Co. kits ship primed and ready to paint. You provide the shingles, paint and drip edge.
How long does shipping take?
Each playhouse is built to order. the current lead time shows as Availability on each product page, and shipping cost shows there and at checkout.
Can an adult fit inside?
Yes. Every Little Cottage Co. playhouse has a child-size Dutch door plus an adult door, and from the 8x8 size up most adults can stand inside.
