About Little Cottage Co.
It started with one playhouse
In 1999 Dan Schlabach began building in his garage in Holmes County, Ohio. The first thing he made was a Victorian playhouse for his daughter. His shop in Millersburg now turns out playhouses, storage sheds and barns, chicken coops, greenhouses and dog kennels, every one sold as a kit you finish yourself.
Little Cottage Company kits are sided with LP SmartSide, primed for paint, and packed with the hardware and step-by-step instructions. Pinecraft carries the whole lineup, and every kit ships free to the lower 48.

Panelized kit
Wall sections come already framed and sided, along with the roof parts, doors and hardware. It is the quickest way to build, and many go up over a weekend with a helper or two.
Playhouses, greenhouses, kennels and most coops, plus the Star Barn and the Five Corner sheds
Precut kit
Every piece of lumber is cut to size, labeled and primed, with the hardware included. You frame and build it from the ground up, and it costs less.
Value, Classic and Colonial sheds and barns, plus the Value A-Frame coop

Who is Little Cottage Co.?
Little Cottage Company is an Amish shop in Millersburg, Ohio, that Dan Schlabach started in 1999. It builds playhouses, storage sheds, barns, chicken coops, greenhouses and dog kennels as do-it-yourself kits.
What is the difference between panelized and precut?
A panelized kit arrives with the walls already framed and sided, so it goes up fastest. A precut kit has every piece cut, labeled and primed, and you build it from the ground up. Compare them above.
What do I need to buy besides the kit?
Shingles, drip edge and paint. Each kit arrives primed and ready to paint.
Is a floor included?
It depends on the model. A few kits include the floor kit, and on most it is an option. Each product page says which.
Do the kits come with instructions?
Yes. Every kit includes detailed step-by-step instructions and the hardware.
How long until my kit ships?
Most Little Cottage Co. kits ship in a few weeks. The Chapel playhouse ships in a little longer and the Star Barn in a little longer. Each product page shows its current time.
Where do you ship?
Shipping is free anywhere in the lower 48 states. We do not ship kits to Hawaii or Alaska.
