Amish Made Polywood Furniture

Many of our woodworkers use polywood which is lumber made from HDPE or High Density Polyethylene.  Polyethylene is a plastic that is most commonly found in milk jugs that you buy in your local grocery store.  The plastic is decontaminated to a purity of over 99% HDPE. It is then pressed into a very hard and rigid lumber, the resulting finished product containing over 90% recycled post-consumer waste by weight.

Polywood is an Environmentally Friendly Material and Built to Last
Our polywood lumber is made from 100% recycled milk jugs which helps to eliminate many tons of plastic jugs that might have ended up in the landfills.  One of our woodworkers poly lumber suppliers, recycles over 115 million plastic jugs every single year!
